Battlefield-sofa

To be or not to be allowed on the couch/sofa?
There goes my dog training right down the drain.

My hubby finds it very endearing when she climbs onto the furniture.
The puppy's antennas picked up the weakness
and quickly defied my orders.
"But, she is so cute!" he says
One scenario that I fear: she will guard her couch/sofa spot against other "intruders".
Mind, Dixie has guard dog genes and she will grow into a big dog.
"See, mom, HE said I am allowed on the couch."

But all my lament does not help - we have a "softy"  in our family.
Well, we will see what the future brings.
It's documented now.

Just in Time

With a severe winter storm on the horizon
I could not let our girl go around half naked.
Just in time I sewed our little Princess a new coat
from an old windbreaker jacket of mine.
I am usually not a gifted seamstress, hems and zippers are all
that I normally use to get done.

But I think I did well this time.
We are ready for a foot of snow and fierce, icy winds.
Dixie seems to like her coat, too.

Merry Something Y'all!

It is that time of the year again.

I want to send my warmest wishes to all my
friends and readers.
Thank you for following my ramblings.

Have a great time!
See you in the new year.

Female problems

With the temperature plummeting and a fierce wind blowing
I wanted to cover up our puppy.
Not a surprise, really.

Dixie has grown a lot lately
and the coats that fit her neatly a few weeks ago
are too small now.
Sorry mom, I have outgrown this one.
That one is barely hanging onto me.

We are in the position most women recognize:

I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!

Either I grow a winter coat on my own or
Santa has to bring one pretty soon!

Beach Lesson

Today was a gorgeous morning and we decided to take
Dixie for a walk on the beach.
The area was deserted, only us to enjoy the sunshine.
After a short discussion we let her off leash to roam around
and explore the new world.
finding a "toy"
checking out driftwood
a perfect recall - training is paying off!
climbing big rocks.
What a nice walk we had.
